The trial was held in woodland with low bramble which was fairly open underneath. This allowed the dogs to work through and under the cover. There was an ample supply of birds which often sat tightly under the bramble and meant the dogs had to carefully work through without missing any cover to flush them out.

There were stops at the end of the woodland to stop the birds breaking out.
The guns were superb, hardly missing anything and Robin the keeper had worked very hard to ensure the bids were in the right place for us.
Half way round, hot soup and hot sausage rolls were brought out for everyone, and there was water for the dogs.
At the end of the day there was coffee and tea for everyone with biscuits and homemade cake served in the beaters room.
The CSC would like to thank Mr Padley and his team for giving us a superb day. Also, special thanks to Robin who looked after us all day and seemed to enjoy holding his first Cocker trial. Thank you also to Sherilee who provided us all with the lovely food, and all the stops, and  helpers who turned up to steward, carry game and pick up, many thanks to them for giving up their day.

The judges said any of the first four dogs could have won as the marks were very close., but the winning dog had the edge and we wish him luck in open trials next season.
