JUDGES LISTS (January 1 2026-December 31 2026)
JUDGES EDUCATION PROGRAMME (JEP – BREED SHOWS) 01.01.2026
The Traditional Judges Lists effectively transition to the JEP on 31.12.2025 when all judges must be registered with the Royal Kennel Club (RKC) at a minimum JEP Level 1.
NOTES for Judges:
A3 List:
In August 2025 the RKC judges department confirmed they would accept nominations for first time CC appointments via the traditional questionnaire route until 31.12.2026 for shows up to 31.12.2028.
The Club A3 List will remain open until 31.12.2026.
B List Judges:
Judges recorded on this List who wish to continue judging the breed should ensure they comply with JEP requirements and are Listed on the appropriate JEP Level.
CC judges:
RKC defines judges who have not awarded Challenge Certificates (CCs) in a specific breed within the past seven years as "Not Currently Active Judges" (NCA). This designation applies to judges who have not judged at any Championship Show with CCs for that breed during that period, although judging at a single breed/sub group show for Best in Show or refereeing is not counted against them, according to The Kennel Club.
Requirements for Judges to Award CCs After a Hiatus:
To award CCs again after a seven-year period without judging, the judge needs to meet specific criteria, including:
Minimum Experience: The Kennel Club's guidelines state a minimum of five years of judging experience in the breed between the first judging appointment and the proposed CC appointment.
Prior CCs: They must have awarded CCs in at least one other breed.
Breed-Specific Seminars: They need to have attended a breed-specific seminar for the relevant breed, organized by a breed club in accordance with The Kennel Club's Code of Best Practice, and passed an examination or assessment where available, says The Kennel Club.
Support of the Club: The breed club must also support their nomination to award CCs, according to The Kennel Club

B List: From 31.12.2025 no longer applicable. Judges listed were considered suitable to judge the breed at Open and Breed Show level.
